In short: Checkmating Alzheimer's is a student-run, educational and awareness initiative. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and using this site doesn't create a doctor-patient or clinical relationship of any kind.
Educational Purpose Only
Checkmating Alzheimer's is a youth-led community initiative that uses chess to raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease and to support early-stage, exploratory research. Content on this site, including anything in the Research section, is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider about any medical questions or concerns you have.
No Professional Relationship
Contacting us, playing in a tournament, or volunteering with us does not create a medical, clinical, or other professional relationship between you and Checkmating Alzheimer's, its founders, or its volunteers.
Use of the Site
You agree to use this site for lawful purposes and not to misuse our contact forms or other features (for example, submitting false information or attempting to disrupt the site).
External Links & Donations
This site links to third-party organizations we work with, including the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). Donations made through our donate button are processed directly by the Alzheimer's Association on their own site, we don't collect or store any payment information ourselves. We aren't responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any external site we link to.
Limitation of Liability
This site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Checkmating Alzheimer's and its founders and volunteers are not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of this site or reliance on any information presented on it.
Intellectual Property
The Checkmating Alzheimer's name, logo, and original content on this site belong to the initiative. Please don't reproduce or use them for commercial purposes without reaching out to us first.
